Annual wind rose
The annual wind rose shows how often the wind blows from each of 16 directions and how strong it is, in six speed bands from 0–2.5 m/s to over 10 m/s (grouped from the Beaufort scale). Next to the yearly rose, one rose per season shows how the prevailing direction changes through the year.
Wind speed and outdoor activities
The legend links each speed band to the outdoor activities it stays comfortable for, from long sitting to unsafe: how often a terrace stays pleasant, or an entrance becomes uncomfortable.
Daily wind rose
The daily wind rose shows the wind at four times of day per season, often what matters for shading, ventilation and the use of terraces and courtyards.
From wind to design decisions
Use the roses to place entrances and outdoor spaces out of the strongest winds, orient openings towards ventilating breezes and decide where a windbreak pays off. Paid plans add directional outdoor comfort strategies with windbreak guidance, and future climate scenarios on the annual rose.

Frequently asked questions
What is a wind rose?
A circular chart that shows how often the wind blows from each direction and at what speeds. The longer a spoke, the more often the wind comes from that direction.
Where does the wind data come from?
From the nearest weather station's typical-year file and, in projects, from reanalysis data at the site's exact coordinates. You can compare both.
Can I see the wind by season?
Yes. The daily wind rose breaks the wind down by season and by time of day.
